What I have Built for You
home intro.org

Hi, I’m Bob (sks145 on Chess.com). I am NOT a "guru", so what I have done in this site is to organize the videos that have helped me the most, from the real "gurus" who are far better than I am. My rating generally hovers around 1000 ELO or so, but I am actively trying to get better, just like you are, I bet! This site is written for people like me...players who want to improve without getting buried under theory. I hope that by making some of the best training videos available to you in an organized manner, it will help you as much as it has helped me.

Everything here focuses on practical habits: spotting tactics, avoiding blunders, and choosing tools that will actually help you learn, as it has helped me.

Follow the link to the "Quick Start Plan" to get a simple, practical improvement plan that you can actually follow. It includes a clear thinking process for every move, the most important tactics to practice, and a simple review method that will help you learn from your losses without getting overwhelmed. And the good part is that you can learn a lot, start winning more games and so far, IT IS ALL FOR FREE! I hope you find this site helpful in your chess journey!

For players roughly 800–1100 (and anyone tired of guessing)

Stop losing to “nothing.” Learn the handful of habits that actually move your rating.

Chess can feel like a pile of random advice. This site keeps it simple: fundamentals, a clear thinking process, and beginner-friendly tactics you can spot in real games.

What you’ll find here: plain-language lessons, common mistakes, and recommendations that support learning. No hype, no pretending you need grandmaster material to improve.

My promise to you

This site contains material to aid you in your progress without overwhelming you. Hopefully, this will help you win more games.
